Online Bidding: Test Self-Registration

Prior to allowing your guests to self-register, Greater Giving recommends testing the process to gain familiarity. This process involves creating a test admission package, creating a test supporter, allocating admissions to that supporter, and sending the invite. Of course after the fact Greater Giving recommends removing this test information.

Step 1: Review Online Bidding Settings

  1. From the Project Home, click Online Bidding Settings under the Online Bidding header.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Scroll down to the Self-Registration Invite area, and ensure Do Not Automatically Send Self-Registration Invite is selected.
  4. Click Save.

Step 2: Create a Test Admission Package

  1. From the Project Home, click View/Edit Packages under the Packages header.
  2. Click Add in the toolbar.
  3. Select Admission for the Package Type.
  4. Enter “Admission Test” for the Package Name.
  5. Enter 1 for Admissions Included.
  6. Check the box to Enable Online Bidding Invite.
  7. Click Save.tst_slf_1.jpg

Step 3: Create Test Supporters

  1. From the Project Home, click View/Edit Supporters under the Supporters header.
  2. Click Add to create a new Supporter.
  3. Provide the following information (minimum):
    • First/Last Name
    • Mobile Phone
    • Email
  4. Click Save or Save and Add New.

Tip: Create a Test Supporter record for each volunteer and staff member that will be participating

Step 4: Allocate Admissions

  1. From the Project Home, click Add a New Sale under the Sales header.
  2. Enter the Package Number or Name for the Package created in Step 2.
  3. Enter a Quantity of 1.
  4. Enter the Supporter Name created in Step 3.
    • You may repeat this process for as many volunteers or staff members you wish to participate.
  5. Click Make Purchaser an Attendee towards the bottom of the page.
  6. Click Save.

Step 5: Send the Invite

  1. From the Project Home, click Online Bidding Settings under the Online Bidding header.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Under the Self-Registration Invite area, ensure the only Package Triggering Self-Invitations is the Package created in Step 2.
  4. Click Send Invitation to All Un-Invited Attendees Now.

Step 5: Delete Test Information

Once your volunteers and staff members have had the opportunity to test the Online Bidding Self-Registration, make sure to delete any test information that was entered. This could include the test Package, test Supporters, and test Sales.
