Text and HTML Modules

Text and HTML modules are one of the most basic modules you can add to your page. It is also one of the most commonly used, because as basic as the module can be, it is also the most customizable and able to fill multiple roles. Below, we will cover some of the most basic features of the Text/HTML module as well as a few advanced features.

Adding a Text/HTML module to your page:

  1. Navigate to the page you wish to add the module to. Ensure you are in Edit mode by clicking Edit Page in the top right corner (if it says View Page, you are in Edit Mode).
  2. Hover over Page Settings, and from the drop down menu select Add a New Module.
  3. Select the module from the list, and either drag and drop it to where you want it, or use the arrows in the right hand corner of the module to determine where it will be placed.

Basic Text/HTML Module:

  1. In the Text/HTML pane, hover over the Pencil icon op_pencil_1.jpg associated with the module to configure it further.
  2. The Text Editor form will open.
  3. Here you will notice familiar text editor icons, for certain tools such as Hyperlinking, Attaching Images, Changing Font Size/Style, and Paragraph Style.
    • At the bottom are 3 buttons for Design, HTML, and Review. The HTML button will allow you to see the underlying HTML code, and if you know HTML will also allow you to code here.
  4. Make sure to click Save after you have entered text.

Using the Hyperlink Manager:

  1. In the Text/HTML pane, click the Pencil icon op_pencil_1.jpg associated with the module to configure it further.
  2. The Text Editor form will open. Highlight the word or series of words you wish to hyperlink, and click the Hyperlink Manager
  3. You can link directly to a Page of yours using the drop down menu, or paste a URL in using the URL text box. You will also be able to set tool tips, and if know CSS apply a CSS Class.
  4. Click OK when you have inserted the URL for your hyperlink, then click Save to save your hyperlink.

Placing Images Directly into Text/HTML:

  1. In the Text/HTML pane, click the Pencil icon op_pencil_1.jpg associated with the module to configure it further.
  2. In the Text Editor form, click the Insert Media button , select Image Manager, and choose your Image from the Image Manager.
    • If your picture needs to be uploaded, click the Upload button. The Image Manager will open a new window that will allow you to browse your files, select the image, and upload it. Remember the maximum size for an image is 300kb.
  3. Make sure to click Save after you have entered your image.

Adding a video into Text/HTML:

  1. In the Text/HTML pane, click the Pencil icon op_pencil_1.jpg associated with the module to configure it further.
  2. In the Text Editor form, click HTML at the bottom to switch to HTML.
  3. Paste the embed code for your video (found on share sites such as Youtube, Vimeo, etc.) in the HTML area.
  4. Click Save when you have pasted your video to save it.

Tip: Please note that Greater Giving has provided the ability to use Hypertext Markup Language in this area. Greater Giving however does not support HTML with its technical staff, and any unintended results from HTML coding most Greater Giving agents will not be able to assist you with.
